Message Notes- Part 3 of the Circle: Love It


  • Review Series
    • Circle = Problem <>
    • Own It (Don’t blame)
    • Confess It <>, Receive It <>, Leave It <>, Deal With It <Galatians 5:6, all that matters is faith expressing itself through love.>
    • If you follow this process shame and guilt will not follow you
    • Today: Love It!
  • Love It
    • Colossians 3:13, “Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” He went first <>
      • “While we were sinners Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
    • “Accept one another then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.” Romans 15:7.
      • Jesus accepted you while you were unacceptable.
      • What iof every Christian practiced this? Racism, sexism, discrimination, etc.  gone!
    • Review: How do you love without shame or guilt?


  • Marriage
    • Ephesians 5:20, “Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.”
      • Key: Out defer each other (Fights not about rights, but service)
      • We think we will be run ragged is we do this?
        • How happy w/ that attitude? Does that make your spouse feel loved?
      • Guys- it says wives submit to your husband (stay out of business)
      • Husbands (Perfect/ Jesus came to serve not to be served.
    • What if Christian marriages got this right? No one split up because they served each other too much.
  • Single? You attract who you are so be the kind of person you want to marry. / Next week.
  • Work
    • Colossians 3:23 says, “Whatever you do work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.”
    • Philippians 2:3 and 14, “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of others. Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure.”
    • What if your boss had this attitude towards you? Employees had this attitude towards their boss/company?
    • Everyone would want to work for a Christian / hire a Christian.
    • ILL: Truck drivers > Blessing bags / Prayer business cards /faith based cards /Prepare meals / Insprational verses on desktop / Coach >> devotions / Business owner used Proverbs for training / Firefighter praying with victims
  • Review: Express your faith through love
  • Spirituality
    • Not charaismatic preachers, Bible knowledge, doctrine, or political stances.
    • It’s this verse and others like it, “The entire law (your spirituality) is fulfilled in keeping one commandment: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Galatians 5:14.
    • Taught from the very beginning- The Apostle John
    • Go Groups and not Life Groups
    • Holiness is defined by dirty hands. Jesus didn’t say congregate with my love but agitate the world with my love!
  • Problem People
    • Romans 12:14; 17-21 tells us what to do, “Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”
  • In short, look out for every opportunity to show God’s love.
