Some thought’s on Christina’s Baptism yesterday

Christina was baptized yesterday!  Yea!  After the second service Christina was baptized into the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Romans 6:3-4 says, “Don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”

Because of Jesus Christina’s sins are forgiven and now has the hope of the resurrection.  Death no longer has any sting on her!  In Colossians 2 Paul describes just how baptism is so incredible.  He writes, “Your whole self ruled by the flesh was put off when you were circumcised by Christ, having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead. When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins.”  Colossians 2:11-13  In baptism we put off our self-rules lives and submit ourselves to the rule of Jesus Christ.  Through Christ, you are made whole hearted.  His blood purifies from all unrighteousness.

This is why Peter tells the those pricked with sin in Acts 2, ““Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”  Acts 2:38

Congratulations Christina on this new and incredible life with Christ!
